Palms House

In this major renovation, a modest one-story traditional home from the 1940s was re-envisioned to become a two-story modern home. The former home was elevated above grade with limited visual and physical connection to the rear yard. An indoor-outdoor connection was established by lowering the first floor to sit at grade and opening the rear wall to the yard with a folding door system. The material palette of white oak and subtle colors provides a calming environment. The landscape features drought-tolerant plants with decorative pebble that references the minimalism of Japanese gardens.
